Ladder Exchange is an initiative aimed at ladder users. It involves HSE, Local Authorities and a number of private sector partners including Speedy Hire and Ladderstore.com. The aim of Ladder Exchange is to remove 5,000 substandard ladders from Britain's workplaces. This can be done voluntarily by duty holders taking their bent or broken ladder to one of the private sector partners to exchange for a new one or more suitable access equipment.
