Additional Benefits for Agency Workers

Earlier this year we advised you that the Government were holding discussions in relation to Agency Workers entitlement to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
The Fixed-Term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 (I’m certain they could have come up with a shorter title!!) came into force on 27th October 2008.
The amendment gives agency workers (even those on 3 month contracts or less) the right to receive SSP in exactly the same manner as a regular member of staff.
